So did Brandon Davies do?
Brandon, 19, did what millions of young people around the world do every day: he had sex with his girlfriend (pictures of his girlfriend has not been published). Unfortunately, the basketball star, premarital sex violates the honor code at BYU, and has left the future of the basketball player is unknown.
The question is, was Brandon and his girlfriend in the current code - or to what extent it will affect his career if they violated? This question remains unanswered at this time but we know that the honor code (which can be seen here) is not flat-out say that students are not allowed to have sex, only that they should "live a chaste and virtuous. "If it was not fully explained in advance Brandon, it could well be argued that he was unaware his actions would have serious consequences.
Davies is still fully enrolled at university, but was suspended from the team for the rest of the season.
When asked if he thinks that Davies will return to the basketball team at Brigham Young University at some point, the Cougars coach Dave Rose said: "Yes, I do."
Sources say Davies will assume responsibility for his actions and is "very sorry" over his bad decisions.
BYU's honor code is the period in question, rather than help students to "live chaste and virtuous life, and to prevent students from engaging in premarital sex, alcohol and drugs.
